Russian Language:
Instructor: Natalia Carusone
To keep the Russian Language studies interesting and challenging, the materials will be modified according to the child's age and level of proficiency in Russian.
The lessons are designed to engage the student by addressing topics from the children’s every day life. One theme of this camp is meeting new friends, so the main topics will include introducing yourself and talking about subjects common in a child’s life.
Each lesson will include games, puzzles and other fun activities along with the language studies.
During the Reading period a variety of activities will be offered to the children based on their skill levels. Beginners will start by learning the Russian alphabet and advance to basic reading rules, and reading and discussing books.
Music:
Instructor: Nina Vepritskaya
The music class will be based exclusively on Russian folklore
tunes
and songs, as well as the best of Soviet era and Russian classics.
Group music activities with a focus on singing songs are a
source of great satisfaction for young
children who have the natural ability to learn easily and effortlessly
the essentials of rhythm and melody, dynamics and tempo etc. through singing,
clapping, ear training and other joyful activities. The delight of music
is strengthened while children develop basic music skills.
Musical Theater:
Instructor: Ludmila Gorbatenko
Students will learn basic staging, music, create scenes and characters, voice and movement with an emphasis on group performance in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere.
The entire camp will take the stage with a performance for family and friends on the last day of camp. There will be a production of children musical "Kolobok".

Full-day program: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5pm.
All campers have the option of bringing a non-perishable lunch or purchasing lunch at the camp on a daily basis.
T-Shirts, shorts & sneakers are uniform of the day. Your child should bring to camp each day: a jacket or sweatshirt, sun or baseball cap, backpack, lunch (non-perishable foods), extra snack.
Each day, campers rotate through core classes in Russian Language, Music, and Theater. Throughout each session, campers work toward a final performance for family and friends, designed to showcase their talents and hard work. Final performances are held on the last day of camp.
Each child will be part of a group of his or her peers led by qualified camp counselors. Our classes are staffed with instructors, camp counselors, so the ratio of campers to teachers is no more than 8 to 1.
In addition to these core classes, we also offer an exciting array of activities. During early morning and late afternoon hours, campers may play traditional Russian outdoor games at the Washington Park, as well as indoor games, and arts and crafts.
